Yael Modiano set up YM Design 20 years ago, following demand from friends and visitors enthused by the way she had designed and decorated her own home in Kensington. A course at Inchbald School of Design had previously helped her to deal with the technical aspects of the work and to realise an instinct of turning an ordinary space into a room full of soul and charm while remaining true to the character of the property.

She has worked on various types of property in the UK and abroad, including houses and apartments in London, country homes in the English countryside, chalets in the French and Swiss Alps as well as sailing boats on the Turkish Riviera.

Her style is best described as elegant and serene, with an emphasis on purity of line and the beauty of simplicity over the chaos of complication. Each of her projects can be described as an oasis of peace.

She has many years' experience of dealing with architects, surveyors and builders and is able to harness their various skills into creating a harmonious and beautiful home.

Yael is sensitive to the likes and dislikes of her clients and is therefore able to help guide them through any uncertainties or fears they may have.

She firmly believes that, only by listening carefully, is she better able to design a harmonious interior which, through her, expresses the individual character of each client.
